Frequently Asked Questions

Body Sculpting with HD Liposuction

Does it hurt? Will I be under general anesthesia?
For decades, general anesthesia has been infrequently used for liposuction to avoid its associated increased risks and because of the excellent results with tumescence. At Premier, we use this well-established tumescent technique in combination with twilight sedation. You will start by taking an oral medicine to help you relax. The doctor will begin by numbing specific spots of the skin with lidocaine and create small (3mm) incisions. A hollow tube will be inserted through the numb incision ports allowing him to start pumping tumescent solution containing a local anesthetic under the skin into the treatment area. Using our HD Lipo vibration equipment, you will feel an odd sensation as the liquid floods the area, but it has never been described as painful. Maybe a little ticklish because of the vibration? This tumescence and vibration will cause the treatment area to become completely anesthetized as well as softening and loosening the fat cells so they are easier to remove. This is when the body sculpting begins by smoothly removing the fat and, if desired, moving it to enhance other areas of your body.
How long does the procedure take?
Every individual body and every procedure is different. Plan to be with use for 3 hours. If you are having the fat transferred to enhance another area of your body, this will take a little longer up to four hours. We will discuss that timeframe with you during your consultation based on the goals for your body.
Can I Drive Home?

No. Due to the medications you will be given the day of the procedure, you will need someone to pick you up and take you home. Your ride can also wait and relax at our clinic during your procedure in our beautiful lounge. They will be very comfortable with access to snacks, drinks, magazines, and free WiFi.

What is the recovery like and how long will it last?

Procedure Day

Expect to go home after the procedure and rest the remainder of the day in your compression garment.

Post Operative Day 1

  • You will be noticeably sore in the area that was treated.  As an example, imagine that you hadn’t been to the gym in years and you decided to go back. You work out hard the first day spending HOURS in the gym. Perhaps you even hire a trainer and it turns out the trainer is tough. The next day…. you HURT! But it’s manageable.  You will have access to prescription pain medications as needed.   Movement, with the support of the compression garments we provide to you, is essential and helpful. You can take the compression garment off temporarily to take your first shower (no baths!) after the procedure.  Go for a simple walk in your neighborhood for 20 minutes; even up to 1 mile through short little walks throughout the day is better. The more you move, the better you will feel. You will have pain medications to help as needed. Drink a lot of water and rest. You will NOT want to go to work this day.

Post Operative Day 2

Continue walking today. You won’t feel as bad as the day before and you will be able to do all your basic tasks at home and even basic errands. We recommend that you not return to work this day. Stay home, continue to drink a lot of water, rest, and walk.

Post Operative Day 3

  • You will come back to the clinic to see the doctor. The pain and soreness will continue to improve daily. Oral medications will change from a prescription or acetaminophen base to an NSAID with the doctor’s approval which will significantly improve pain management. As pain resolves most of our patients begin to transition back to work on their regular activities, letting their body be their guide.  Again, drink a lot of water and walk.

Post Operative Days 4-30

  • You will be in a compression garment for 24 hours/day, except for showering, to maximize results and healing. Your comfort and activity levels will continue to improve each day; however you will not be able to participate in strenuous activities. This includes activities such as running, yoga, weightlifting, jump rope, etc.
What is the cost?
Every person, every case, and every individual body is very different. Our patient care coordinators are always willing to speak with you, answer your specific questions and offer a likely range of costs for what you are seeking. However, to really know what it will cost to attain the outcome you are seeking a Surgical Consultation with the surgeon is required, resulting in a tailored Treatment Plan and quote for you. Only $200, Surgical Consultations are one-hour medical appointments, and this fee can be credited toward any future surgical fees at Premier Body and Laser.
Is fat removal permanent?

The liposuction procedure permanently removes fat cells from your body in the treated areas.  Fat cells that are removed do not grow back, unless there is extreme weight gain (>30% body weight) in the future. The amount of fat removed and the resulting body shape can vary and are unique to each patient. Our Before and After section shows real-life examples of the variety of results.

What is the difference between our body sculpting with HD Lipo and Cool Sculpting or SculpSure?

Some technologies have been developed to try and damage/kill the fat that lies just barely under the skin with tools that work through the surface of the skin. They do not use needles, small incisions or even large incisions. To some this is a significant advantage; however, it proves to be their greatest limitation and markedly limits their results. Because they rely on cool or heat to go through the surface of the skin, their power is limited and can only affect a thin layer of fat just barely under the skin surface, otherwise it would hurt or damage/kill the skin. As a result, many people experience discomfort with only minimal, if even noticeable fat reduction. Premier Body and Laser uses minimally-invasive HD Liposuction that is performed by a doctor and gently removes over three times the amount of fat (compared to the cooling or heating devices) in one procedure with minimal downtime and no damage to the skin or critical supportive structures under the skin. This yields much better results for less cost to you!

What is the difference between Premier’s body sculpting with HD Lipo and Vaser or SmartLipo?

These other technologies are a type of liposuction that use high-frequency ultrasound waves or medical-grade lasers to damage, destroy and then remove fat cells and other tissue under the skin. Unfortunately, these processes also damage nerves or the elastic support network under the skin resulting in altered skin retraction and prolonged healing. Premier’s HD Lipo equipment uses vibration technology drastically reducing bruising or damage to supportive tissues, significantly improving cosmetic appearance, and reducing healing times by half. After 40 years of different liposuction tools, the HD Liposuction equipment has revolutionized the most popular cosmetic procedure performed in the world to reduce the risks of others, capitalize on strengths and bring patients Premier results!

How Does Laser Tattoo Removal Work?

Tattoos are removed by using a laser that emits short pulses of intense light energy that safely pass through the top layers of the skin and stop in the subcutaneous layer where the ink is located. The light energy safely breaks the ink into tiny, dust-like particles that are readily absorbed by your body and eliminated through its natural processes.

How Many Treatments Will It Take

Most tattoos require several treatments for effective removal. Our ability to fully remove a tattoo is dependent on several different factors, including but not limited to: Your overall body health, location of the tattoo, ink colors, ink depth, quality of ink, age of tattoo, any underlying scarring and your skin tone. On average, a patient will need between 5 to 10 treatments for complete removal of all ink colors. We wait at least 8 weeks in between treatments.  Not all tattoos can be completely removed, and our laser experts can discuss with you if your tattoo might be one that may not completely resolve.

How Much does Laser Tattoo Removal Cost?

The cost of removing a tattoo is dependent upon how many square inches of ink we are removing and how many sessions it will take to reach the desired end point, be it full clinical removal or just lightening in preparation for a coverup. The pricing starts at $150 per session. We are happy to answer your questions about cost over the phone. When you are ready to treat, we will provide you with a customized treatment quote during the in-person consultation.  Financing options are available, including same-as-cash arrangements.

Why Is The Enlighten Laser The Best For Tattoo Removal?

Enlighten is the world’s first triple wavelength and dual pulse duration technology for tattoo removal, pigment and skin revitalization.  In addition to the strong, well-established nano technology, it also uses a much faster, more advanced, cutting-edge system called pico technology that delivers greater laser energy at an incredible speed of a trillionth of a second; 1000x faster than nano technology. This allows the delivery of large amounts of energy with minimal thermal (heat) injury that shatters tattoo pigment into minuscule particles, which can be then absorbed more quickly and excreted from the body with less chance of scarring, less discomfort, and a shorter recovery time. With the ability to impact ink with 3 different wavelengths inside the Enlighten III laser we can remove all colors of ink from black, red, blue, green, purple, and even turquoise. Dual pulse durations allow us to treat ink that is superficial down to extremely dense and deep.  The 3 different wavelengths allow us to treat all colors.  This combination in one laser is a game changer for anyone looking to remove or lighten their tattoos.

Pico Genesis

What Is Pico Genesis

PICO Genesis is the latest aesthetic treatment to improve the appearance of unwanted freckles, sunspots and age spots – gently, predictably and quickly. PICO Genesis treatments will make your skin appear lighter, brighter, and more even, removing fine lines and wrinkles in a series of two to three treatments.

How Does The Pico Genesis Treatment Work?
Everyone’s skin contains a substance called melanin. It’s what gives our skin its color. When melanin occurs in high concentrations, it can result in brown spots and uneven skin tone. PICO Genesis uses laser light to selectively and safely shatter unwanted pigmentation and remodel the upper layer of the skin to return balance + clearance + radiance to your skin.
How Many Treatment Sessions Are Required?
A series of two to three PICO Genesis treatments is recommended to achieve an optimal outcome, and ongoing maintenance treatments are encouraged to sustain results over time. Your PICO Genesis provider will discuss a treatment plan during your consultation.
What Areas Can Be Treated?

PICO Genesis treatments are ideal for the face, hands, neck, décolletage and other areas of the body with noticeable signs of sun damage and excess pigmentation.

What Can I Expect During A Pico Genesis Treatment And What Does It Feel Like?

Prior to treatment, your provider will clean the area. You will feel the tip of the laser device touch your skin to maintain the proper distance from the laser to your skin. As the laser energy is applied, you’ll feel a sensation that patients often compare to an electric rain sensation. Most patients do not find the treatment uncomfortable, but if you do, your treatment provider may apply a topical anesthetic. Immediately after treatment, you may apply cold air or an ice pack for a short time. You should keep the treated area out of the sun and/or apply sunscreen for protection. Your PICO Genesis provider may recommend additional follow-up care.

What Are The Possible Side Effects?

Most patients experience mild redness and swelling immediately following the treatment. These side effects are temporary and typically resolve in several hours. Over the course of a few days, the treated sun spots and freckles will become darker and flake off as they heal, revealing a new, even complexion.

Is There Any Downtime Associated With The Treatment?

Although you may experience mild redness and swelling for a few hours following the treatment, you can expect to return to your regular activities that same day.
